Beacon Sponsoring "Run Medford" Charity Road Race & Fun Run - Sunday, Sept. 18th
Beacon Consulting Group is proud to be sponsoring (and participating in) "Run Medford," a charity Road Race / fundraiser to be held on September 18th in Medford, MA. Beacon's Boston area office is in Medford, a city located less than 5 miles northwest of downtown Boston. Medford's population is now over 59,000 people and it's home to many thriving businesses, as well as Tufts University. Medford was on the route of Paul Revere's famous midnight ride, which is celebrated with a reenactment every year. Past residents of Medford include such well-known figures as former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, aviator Amelia Earhart, and Beacon's President Dennis O'Neill!
On Sunday September 18th members of Beacon's team will be participating in "Run Medford" a charity road race / fun run which will be raising funds for various non-profit organizations in Medford. Laura O'Neill (Dennis' wife) is involved with organizing and promoting the event for The Medford Chamber of Commerce.
The event will include 5K and 8K road races, a fun run for kids, 1-mile high school and celebrity races, and other festivities, including an after party. The race is being organized by DMSE Sports, an event / race management company founded by former Medford resident Dave McGillivray who famously ran across country from Medford, Oregon to Medford, Massachusetts (his home town) in 1978 to raise funds for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
