Project Highlight: New York State Police Crime Lab at Stewart International Airport

This project consisted of the construction of a14,000 square foot state of the art crime lab facility at the Stewart International Airport. The project is a collaborative effort between the Port Authority and NY State Police to provide continued police protection at the airport as well as a crime lab facility for towns in the Hudson Valley. Upon the default of the General Contractor, Beacon was retained by the Surety to help get the project back on track.
Services provided by Beacon on the project included:
- Performing an assessment of the project and the cost to complete
- Generating a Solicitation for Offer package for all potential completion contractors
- Assisting the surety with the selection of a completion contractor
- Helping to manage the transition process from the Surety to Completion Contractor.
Beacon also worked with the Owner in resolving and finalizing outstanding Change Orders on the project to incorporate into a complete construction re let for the Completion Contractor.
