Beacon Consulting Group was retained by a leading Surety to provide construction consulting / surety claims consulting services related to a homeless shelter renovation project in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. Beacon was hired to help ensure that the project was completed following the default of the General Contractor on the project. The $1.2-million first phase of the building's renovation included the upgrade / renovation of bathrooms, shower rooms, and adjoining spaces used by residents. This entailed upgrades to mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm. The project also included all related finish work (such as painting, tile work, flooring, etc). On December 7th and 8th, Beacon's team came together in Boston to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and hold our annual corporate meeting and holiday party. It was a truly memorable two days, with our corporate meeting held at the beautiful Omni Hotel in Boston's Seaport District. Another interesting item in this month's newsletter is an article about the incredible "Sphere" arena which opened in Las Vegas recently (with U2 performing the inaugural concert on Sept. 29th). The Sphere is an amazing feat of architecture, construction engineering, and multi-media technology. Not only is it the largest spherical structure in the world, but it also features the largest high-definition LED screen (more than 4 acres in size).

Beacon recently provided Construction Consulting services related to a solar energy project in Orange County, NY. Beacon was retained by a leading Surety company to help evaluate the status of an ongoing Solar Field construction project. The Surety became involved when the electrical subcontractor on the project (the principal) did not complete their contracted work related to the electrical work on the site...
You may have seen the amazing video clips and photos on the news (or on social media) about the unique new music and entertainment venue which opened recently in Las Vegas, known simply as "Sphere." Simon Gallagher joined Beacon’s team in January of 2023 and has been assisting on a wide range of construction consulting and surety claims projects over the past 10+ months.
