Dennis O'Neill, President of Beacon Consulting Group, Inc., and John Dreste of Ernstrom & Dreste, LLP, were the featured speakers at theApril 2nd meeting of the Chicago Surety Claims Association. Their topic was "Is What's Old New Again? 2010 AIA and Other New Bond Forms: Risks, Rewards and Protocol." The presentation reviewed some of the key considerations that sureties, outside counsel, and their consultants must be aware of related to new bond forms and information found in the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) most recent Bond Form publications. It also discussed practical steps that can be taken to mitigate claims under the Bond Forms.
