Beacon Consulting Group was retained by a leading Surety to provide construction consulting / surety claims consulting services related to a homeless shelter renovation project in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. Beacon was hired to help ensure that the project was completed following the default of the General Contractor on the project. The $1.2-million first phase of the building's renovation included the upgrade / renovation of bathrooms, shower rooms, and adjoining spaces used by residents. This entailed upgrades to mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm. The project also included all related finish work (such as painting, tile work, flooring, etc). Beacon was retained by a leading surety company to help with the completion of a specialized marine construction project in Somerville, MA, just a few miles northwest of Boston. The project entailed the replacement of the "Somerville Tide Gate" which is part of the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority's (MWRA) combined sewer overflow (CSO) system.
