Simon Gallagher joined Beacon’s team in January of 2023 and has been assisting on a wide range of construction consulting and surety claims projects over the past 10+ months. A native of County Antrim, Ireland, Simon graduated from the University of Dundee in Scotland with an LLB Degree (Bachelor of Laws).

As part of Beacon’s team, Simon played a key role in helping to turn around a large lakeside hotel/resort construction project located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. On that assignment, Beacon was hired to help manage the completion of the project after the General Contractor failed to meet their contractual obligations. Starting in February of 2023, Simon spent several months on site to support Beacon’s project managers and help manage and monitor the various subcontractors and vendors involved on the project. With Beacon’s involvement, the hotel was able to open in June of 2023.

Working out of Beacon’s Boston area office, Simon assists Beacon’s team related to a wide range of construction consulting and surety claims consulting services. Simon played an important supporting role on a recent Beacon assignment which entailed developing a claim analysis for use in litigation. He has also helped with Construction Project Cost-to-Complete Analyses, including:

• Reviewing subcontractor / vendor scope and accounting information
• Reviewing the contract balance
• Reviewing approved and pending change orders
• Determining and estimating costs for any remaining buyout items
• Reviewing / analyzing the project schedule (and issues which can impact the schedule)

When not working, Simon enjoys exploring the Boston area, visiting new cities, and going to concerts.
