Beacon Providing Surety Consulting / Construction Consulting Services for CCB Building Project at Rutgers University
Beacon Consulting Group recently started work on a major surety consulting / construction consulting assignment at Rutgers University, related to the completion of the Chemistry & Chemical Biology (CCB) Building Project on the university's Busch Campus (Piscataway, NJ).
Beacon is providing a comprehensive range of services to support the Surety for this project. Upon the default of the original contractor, Beacon was retained to assess the status of the project and took over the interim management of the project to maintain schedule. Beacon also worked with the owner, architect and all of the subcontractors to get the project back on track.
The Chemistry & Chemical Biology project involves the construction of 145,000 sq. ft., Gold LEED-certified building housing state-of-the-art research facilities, laboratories, auditorium/conference center, common spaces, meeting rooms, classrooms and instructional support areas. Site construction commenced in June of 2014 and planned completion date for the project will be in 2017. The original, total estimated value of the construction project was more than $80 million. Beacon Consulting is playing a critical consulting role in helping the Surety to manage risk and ensure the completion of the project in a timely and cost effective manner.
