Beacon Consulting Group has extensive experience working on school construction projects, including many surety / construction consulting assignments. This project entailed the renovation of a high school cafeteria, lunchroom seating and concession stand areas at Dobbs Ferry Middle School & High School located in Westchester County, NY.
Beacon’s Role/Service(s):
The cafeteria refurbishment project began in the summer of 2013. The original General Contractor on the project defaulted. Following a demand by the school to the surety, Beacon was retained by the Surety to help assess the status of the project and subsequently provide a re-let of the project. Beacon provided a variety of surety / construction consulting services on the project, including:
- Prepared the cost to complete summary
- Resolved subcontractor / vendor liens
- Developed a re-let package
- Assisted the Surety with selection of completion contractor
The project is scheduled for completion during the school’s upcoming summer recess.
