Description of Project:
The new Queens Family Court and City Agency Facility is a four-story brick and glass building, with a set back fifth story. It was designed to complete the wall of residential and small institutional structures that surround historic Rufus King Park in downtown Jamaica, simultaneously maintaining a civic presence commensurate with the building's use.

The 280,000 square foot facility, which is the first new Family Court in Queens in 30 years, features 23 modern courtrooms, spacious waiting rooms, a children's center, and offices for numerous city agencies, including the Law Department, Department of Probation, Queens District Attorney's Office and Administration for Children's Services, as well as the State Office of Mental Health, Office of Children and Family Services, Legal Aid Society and Safe Horizon.
